Hollywood loves basketball—they sit courtside and watch it, occasionally suit up and actually play it, and they love to make movies about it,. Often, that love goes both ways, as two-time NBA All-Star Baron Davis can attest. Davis had a lengthy career on the court, and made the leap to filmmaking off the court in 2008 when he produced the Emmy-nominated documentary Crips And Bloods: Made In America. Most recently, Davis co-directed the upcoming Showtime documentary The Drew: No Excuse, Just Produce. We talked to Davis about some of his favorite basketball movies, including Millennial-favorite Space Jam, and Spike Lee’s He Got Game.
