Topping Arrow’s trend of filling as many roles as possible with people who used to be on Spartacus, Arrow’s spinoff The Flash has just cast Liam McIntyre—Spartacus himself. According to Variety, McIntyre will be playing Mark Mardon, the brother of the guy that Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen fought in the first episode. McIntyre will be showing up in episodes 15 and 16 of The Flash‘s first season, which will be returning to The CW on January 20.
Comic book fans will recognize Mark Mardon as the real name of Weather Wizard, a villain with the ability to control the weather. That’s cool on its own, but Weather Wizard is also famous for being a member of the Rogues, The Flash’s very own team of supervillains. Longtime Rogues Captain Cold and Heat Wave have already made appearances on The Flash—though the latter was just a quick cameo—and Mark Hamill’s Trickster will be popping up soon, so with Weather Wizard joining them it’s only a matter of time before we get to see Flash taking on the whole gang. Plus, if The Flash can make a guy named Weather Wizard work, then Mirror Master should be no problem.
