Spears' pregnancy forces Nickelodeon to talk about sex
As the shockwaves (shockwaves!!!) from Jamie Lynn Spears' recently announced illegitimate bun in the immature oven continue to reverberate around the world, it's raising all kinds of touchy subjects, from what Nickelodeon plans to do about the final season of Spears' show Zoey 101 to whether it should be treated as statutory rape. And naturally, it's also caused parents to get all "Won't somebody please think of the children?!" about what to tell their daughters, prompting this typically haughty round of reader responses over at CNN.com. Now Nickelodeon itself is thinking it might be time to "rap with the kids," mulling over the idea of hiring respected newswoman Linda Ellerbee—who's broken it down for the young ones before over touchy subjects like Columbine and the Clinton scandal—to come in and have "the talk" no parent really wants to have. Rather than focusing on Spears, however, Ellerbee says she would like to have a "broad discussion about how people know they're in love, when is the right time to have sex and what are the value systems of their parents and friends" that could air as early as next month. (Ewwwww.)
