Spider-Man joining the Fantastic Four
In announcing last month’s demise of the Human Torch, Marvel promised that the subsequent end of the Fantastic Four would give way to “a new thing that will be exciting and different and yet, very familiar and very much the same” while killing time until Johnny Storm’s inevitable rebirth from an alternate dimension or whatever. Today it’s been revealed that Spider-Man will be filling the void in the interim, with Peter Parker approaching Reed Richards’ rechristened Future Foundation—which is definitely something new, yet very familiar—and being welcomed into the fold in the first issue of FF, debuting on March 23. As part of the transition, the team will also adopt the all-new black-and-white costumes seen above, which certainly seems like an impractical choice for crime-fighting.
