Reaffirming that Marc Webb’s Spider-Man will be both yet another high-school set origin story and feature characters of arguably marginal importance in the Spider-Man universe, Chris Zylka has been added as “Flash Thompson,” the guy whose daytime bullying of Peter Parker parallels an ironic nighttime reverence of Parker’s masked alter ego. Zylka, described as a “strapping young actor” by the reanimated corpse of Louella Parsons who apparently contributed this guest report to The Wrap, has been seen in both Hannah Montana and Gregg Araki’s Kaboom—two fan bases that probably don’t have much overlap.
