Spike Lee, Olivia Colman, and the rest of the most memorable speeches from the Academy Awards
Tonight’s Academy Awards ended on a bit of a sour note, with Green Book’s Best Picture win almost immediately going down as the worst pick since Crash, but let’s not forget that there were some highlights before that. Melissa McCarthy wore a ridiculous dress covered in stuffed rabbits! That was fun. Also, some awards actually went to well-deserving winners, many of whom gave memorable, funny, emotional, and insightful acceptance speeches. We’ve collected a handful of them here, allowing you to experience the best parts of the Oscars without having to remember that Green Book won Best Picture.
