Miners: They’re so hot right now. And today Spike TV has captured the zeitgeist by revealing its upcoming reality series Coal, about the dangerous world of West Virginia coal mining. Produced by the team that brought you Deadliest Catch, the show (which premieres next April) has been in development for over a year, ever since the tragic underground explosion that claimed the lives of 29 West Virginia miners last spring. And it was announced today, which is certainly a fortuitous coincidence.
