For all its space-rock affectations, Spiritualized has always rooted its psychedelic explorations in the bedrock of blues and gospel, so the band’s recent signing to Mississippi-based roots label Fat Possum Records for its North American releases makes at least some kind of sense. First up for Spiritualized’s new label will be the band’s soon-to-be-completed, as-yet-untitled seventh record, which is set to drop in fall. Before then, if you happen to be in the vicinity of London’s Royal Albert Hall, you’ll be happy to know that Spiritualized has planned a return trip to the venue spotlighted on its 1998 live album Live At The Albert Hall for a show Oct. 11. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. March 11.
