Spotify now offering yet another way to watch videos on your phone

Good news for smartphone users who, for some reason, can’t watch streaming video through YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, or any of the multiple network-specific apps available for their phones: Spotify is finally offering yet another way to watch TV on a tiny little screen in the palm of your hand. The popular music streaming service launched a video channel with content from Comedy Central, ESPN, BBC, and a number of other networks to Android today, with iOS planned for next week. This service will be available solely in the U.S, the U.K., Germany, and Sweden for the time being. Sorry, rest of the world.

People who, for whatever reason, choose to access short clips from The Daily Show and SportsCenter through the app need only tap the “Browse” button in their main menu and then choose the option for “video shows” (as opposed to an option for “audio shows,” which directs the listener to podcasts). Though pickings are reportedly pretty slim at the moment, one would have to imagine that a wider range of material, including some exclusive content, will be made available in time.
