St. Vincent worked at her sister’s new restaurant this weekend

We don’t know how competitive the taco market is in Dallas, but we’re going to guess that having an indie rock goddess recommending drinks to your clientele will give you a slight edge. Such is the case for Andrew and Amy Savoie, who recently opened Resident Taqueria and apparently asked for a little help from family in their inaugural week. As luck would have it, Amy’s sister is none other than Annie Clark a.k.a. St. Vincent. Clark spent the weekend learning to work the front of house, because that’s just the kind of thing you do after attending haute couture fashion shows in New York.

One customer, who transcribed her conversation with Clark on Tumblr, noted that the singer declined any gratuity. And Dallas News editor Tom Steele tweeted that the Grammy winner not only cleared tables, but also restocked the mineral water.

We can’t argue with his assessment of the strangeness of the world when a Pitchfork headliner has just been seen taking patron’s orders with an iPad, but it’d still be nice to hear that Clark ended her shift by boarding a spaceship or something.
