Star of the new Conan The Barbarian has written his own sequel already
Marcus Nispel’s slickly modern update of Conan The Barbarian hasn’t even disappointed its first audience and already there are plans for a sequel—though as of right now, those plans exist entirely in the head of lead actor Jason Momoa, the Game Of Thrones-bred pectoral-and-eyebrow mountain who says that he has taken on the task of scripting the follow-up himself. In an interview with Crave Online, Momoa proclaimed that he’s already written the sequel and is currently waiting to see if “they’ll accept it”—“they” being the producers and the studio, presumably, but also implicitly the audiences who may decide next week that they have no interest in a new Conan movie, let alone two of them. Anyway, for what it’s worth, Momoa avows that his film will be “character-adapted,” delve deeper into some of the story’s mythical creatures, and, ultimately, please Jason Momoa, as “no one’s going to know what I want to do better than me.” (So maybe more scenes where he gets to rape beautiful women?)
