Star Wars: Turn To The Dark Side slices the prequels down to one film
With all the Star Wars VII casting news fervor slowing down due to the movie actually being cast, the world is left with nothing but a general sense of unease about the future of its movies about space wizards. Thankfully, a new video has arrived to temporarily relieve some anxiety by saying “Hey, if it sucks we can always turn to Topher Grace to fix it seven years later.” While the new video that turned up on Vimeo isn’t by That 70’s guy himself, Star Wars: Turn To The Dark Side is “based on the structure conceived by [Grace],” and the results are certainly more watchable than the 7 hours of Jar Jar Binks and virgin births that the world previously got. The two hour and 45 minute cut removes much of the fat that bogged down the prequel trilogy, such as the aforementioned Binks and midichlorians, and the reduced running time is probably far more appropriate for any Star Wars viewing parties that you might have planned in a year and a half. Unfortunately, the new cut is unable to do anything about Hayden Christensen. There’s only so much that technology can do.
