Starbuck to team up with Jack Bauer; Olmos directs BSG movie
Two big nerd-news alerts, so listen up: Katee Sackhoff has apparently agreed to join the cast of 24; the eighth season will begin airing in January of next year. According to EW's Michael Ausiello, Sackhoff will play "Dana Walsh, a highly respected and down-to-earth data analyst at the new and improved New York branch of CTU." Sure, the show has lost some of its lustre, but hey, Freddy Prinze Jr. is going to be on this season, too! (That was sarcasm.)
In way more exciting Battlestar news, Edward James Olmos has spilled a little bit about The Plan to a panel in L.A., according to Scifiwire. The movie—which, according to Olmos, will be 40 minutes longer on DVD than on TV—tells the story of the first 281 days after the attack on the Colonies, but from the point of view of the Cylons, led by Dean Stockwell. Both DVD and broadcast are apparently due in September. Read all the goods at Scifiwire.
