Stars of Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch quit the show
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Discovery Channel reality series Deadliest Catch has just lost Capts. Johnathan and Andy Hillstrand as well as Capt. Sig Hansen, all of whom have decided not to continue with the show in the wake of increasingly nasty litigation with the network. After Discovery slapped the Hillstrands with a lawsuit demanding a totally-reasonable-for-crab-fishermen sum of $3 million over the aborted spin-off series Hillstranded, the brothers and Hansen issued a joint statement today saying they would be leaving Deadliest Catch before the filming of its seventh season begins in October. With the recent death of Capt. Phil Harris, Deadliest Catch is now without four of its captains and the inarguable stars of the show—though we’ve been hearing rumors that Justin Timberlake and Harry Connick Jr. may take over. But seriously, they should just end it.
