Starz picks up Survivor’s Remorse for a third season

As reported by Deadline, Starz has renewed Survivor’s Remorse for a third season. The show stars Jessie T. Usher as a young hotshot basketball star and Ronreaco Lee as his cousin, and it has LeBron James (who has some experience as a young hotshot basketball player himself) as one of its executive producers. The second season of Survivor’s Remorse just premiered in late August, so that suggests that it’s going really well for Starz, with the network’s Carmi Zlotnik even adding that the show has “seen its fans grow season over season.” If you like actual data in your reports on TV ratings, Deadline says the series-high same-day ratings for the first season were 1.13 million, and two weeks into the second that number is already up to 1.34 million. The show is also doing well with critics, so things are really looking good for Starz here. Maybe someday it can executive produce a TV show about a young hotshot premium cable network?
