Though it’s cold comfort for those still mourning the cancellation of Party Down and its subsequent banishing from Netflix, Starz has announced that it will return the show’s final episodes to iTunes, Amazon, and Xbox beginning August 24—motivated, perhaps, by its desire to capitalize on the sudden postmortem interest generated by all the web-based rending of garments over its demise. Even better, the DVD release of its second season has been bumped up to Sept. 28—the earliest it’s ever put a show out there—and network execs promise that Party Down will once again be made available via streaming media before the end of the year. It’s still dead, of course, but at least it’s no longer buried.
