Stephen Colbert spends his day off with kittens and Trump jokes
Like just about everyone else, Stephen Colbert could have used the long weekend to cleanse himself of Donald Trump’s recent vile video release. You know, the audio and footage from Trump’s Days Of Our Lives set visit back in 2005, when he joked with Billy Bush about groping women without consent because that’s one of the trappings of success. Anyway, the Late Show had Columbus Day off, but Colbert felt compelled to respond on multiple occasions from his home. On Monday, he “broadcast” from his den, where he wasn’t just kitten around about the latest presidential debate.
Of course, after Trump’s set-visit statements, the internet’s love of cat videos will never be the same. Luckily, Colbert included plenty of funny running commentary on Sunday’s debate, which saw Trump turn up his nose at Hillary Clinton’s inability to enforce federal tax laws back when she was the First Lady Of Arkansas. (Sad.) There was also so much sniffling again.
