Stephen Colbert will go live after Trump’s upcoming address to Congress

No longer willing to wait a day to confront our current president’s latest cocktail of bizarre hand gestures, grandiose lies, and calls for the destruction of the media, Stephen Colbert has announced that he’ll once again be going live to react to the actions of Donald Trump. According to Variety, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert will do a live episode on Tuesday, February 28, following Trump’s planned address to a joint session of Congress. According to House Speaker Paul Ryan, the session is intended as “an opportunity for the people and their representatives to hear directly from our new president about his vision and our shared agenda,” a potentially nightmarish scenario that should give Colbert—who’s gone live 14 times since his show began in September 2015—plenty of material to work with.
