Stephen Hawking admitted to hospital in serious condition
Stephen Hawking was rushed to the hospital this morning in serious condition after spending several weeks fighting a chest infection. Hawking, whose ALS has left him almost completely paralyzed for several years, is reportedly “very ill,” according the communications director of Cambridge University, where Hawking is a professor of mathematics and theoretical physics. (He planned to retire at the end of this year.)
Hawking is perhaps best known for his bestselling 1988 book A Brief History Of Time, though he has also been visible throughout the years in the realm of pop culture, particularly his appearances on The Simpsons and Futurama.
Get well soon, Stephen.
