Sterling Fox and Samantha Ronson team up for “Angry Sons”

Though he’s a fairly accomplished ghostwriter, having worked with Lana Del Rey, Avicii, Adam Levine, and Madonna, Sterling Fox is striking out on his own. Part of that comes from the vengeance he feels toward the more selfish artists he’s worked with who haven’t given him his due. Most if it, though, comes because he’s got something to say.

That’s evident on his new collaboration with Samantha Ronson, which The A.V. Club is exclusively premiering below. “Angry Sons” is certainly emotional, opening with a note that’s half shriek, half wail, before diving deep into intensely personal territory. It’s all still set to a danceable—or at least swayable—beat, though, making the whole thing a pretty zen-friendly proposition all in all.
