Steve Harrington gets a job at the mall in our first look at Stranger Things season 3

As the quartet of boys at the center of Netflix’s hit sci-fi/horror hybrid Stranger Things inch towards high school, their hometown of Hawkins, Indiana has given them the greatest gift you could give to an ‘80s teenager: A mall. We suspect that Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Will (Noah Schnapp), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Dustin (Gaten Matazrazzo) will prefer hiding out in Waldenbooks thumbing through Dungeons And Dragons rulebooks—a favorite pastime of many a nerdy kid of the era—to the khaki wonderland of the Gap, while douchebag bully-turned-monster-fighting mentor Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) will be spending his afternoons scooping ice cream at the Scoops Ahoy! ice cream shop. It’s no TCBY, but it’ll do.

Aside from a very Fast Times At Ridgemont High-esque first look at Maya Hawke as Robin, this video, released earlier this morning on the Stranger Things twitter account, is more fuel for speculation (a zombie invasion, à la Dawn Of The Dead ? Killer Chopping Mall robots?) than a proper teaser for the show’s upcoming third season. But honestly, it is nice to see Steve again.

Stranger Things season three doesn’t have a set release date, although we’re guessing summer of 2019, based on the “coming next summer!” text that flashes across the screen at the end of the video.
