Stock up on medicated creams, because V/H/S is going “Viral”

Someone should buy Rex Reed that 55 gallon drum of lube off his Amazon wish list, because the V/H/S franchise refuses to die. Like its predecessors, the third V/H/S movie will combine found-footage genre tropes and format fetishism, only this time updating the aesthetic from 1985 to 2005 and going “viral”.

V/H/S Viral is being produced by horror fansite-turned-indie studio Bloody Disgusting and its parent company The Collective. An international team of directors—including Todd Lincoln (The Apparition), Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes), Marcel Sarmiento (Deadgirl), Gregg Bishop (Dance Of The Dead), and the team of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Resolution)—has been assembled for the sequel, which The Wrap describes as the story of “fame-obsessed teens who unwittingly become stars of the next Internet sensation.” Now all that’s left to do is invent a “loading” plugin for After Effects.
