Budget cuts at the NBC News division has finally reached the on-air talent with the recent announcement that—after fifteen years co-anchoring Dateline—Stone Phillips had been let go. Not renewing his contract leaves Ann Curry as the sole newsanchor of the program, which was recently renewed for Saturdays and Sundays. Phillips issued the standard "these guys are so great and my time here has been awesome and we're all family" statement, but has yet to announce the next phase of his career.
