Stone Temple Pilots pull a Stone Temple Pilots by canceling the remainder of Stone Temple Pilots tour

Stone Temple Pilots' reputation as the Guns N' Roses of grunge wasn't earned merely by Scott Weiland being in a band once with Slash and Duff McKagan. STP is also similarly unreliable as a touring unit, as the band's recent round of canceled shows reflect. At least the band appears to have a solid excuse this time around: Weiland was ordered by his doctor to rest his voice because his left vocal chord is scarred and his right vocal chord is inflamed. Further touring at this time could apparently damage his voice permanently. And we wouldn't want that to happen, now would we? [Via Rolling Stone]
