Stone Temple Pilots sue Scott Weiland, whose feelings are hurt by the whole thing

The abusive, on-again/off-again relationship between Stone Temple Pilots frontman (or is he?!) Scott Weiland and the rest of the band has reached new lawyer-assisted heights with a suit brought by the band against the singer. On the one hand there's the band—the DeLeo brothers and Eric Kretz—who accuse Weiland of such rock-star behavior as being late to shows and not communicating with them. They'd like a judge to rule that Weiland has no further right to the name Stone Temple Pilots so that they can tour the world with Linkin Park's Chester Bennington on vocals. (Insult to injury!) Weiland, in a message on his website, says that he's "hurt" and plainly states that "they don't have the legal right to call themselves STP because I'm still a member of the band." He goes on to make a good point: "The fans deserve to know what they're getting," though that statement ignores the fact that the fans probably will know, they just won't give a shit. Chances are solid that this will end with Weiland running back to the DeLeo brothers, feather boa covered with tears, for half a tour before the whole ugly cycle starts again. [h/t CBS News]
