Stranger Things creators confirm season 3, talk ending the show with season 4

While teasing the upcoming second season, Stranger Things executive producer Shawn Levy revealed that creators Matt and Ross Duffer had more than enough story for a third outing. Now the Duffer brothers themselves have confirmed another return trip to Hawkins. In an interview with Vulture about season two, the producing bros say a third season is a done deal. Not only that, but they want to wrap the series after a fourth (not yet ordered) season: “We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out,” Ross Duffer tells Vulture, which would put Will Byers and the rest of the gang on the precipice of college. Regardless of age, his brother Matt chimes in to note that yearly supernatural occurrences for the teens might be pushing it: “We just have to keep adjusting the story. Though I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year.” At the very least, they say, the D&D-loving kids “have to get the fuck out of this town. It’s ridiculous!”

Stranger Things season two premieres October 27 on Netflix.
