Much like Bob’s Burgers, Vinnie’s Pizzeria in Brooklyn enjoys creating pun-filled, pop culture-related daily specials. And pizzeria owner Sean Berthiaume documents his work on his Tumblr called Special Bored. We’ve previously highlighted one of his Parks And Recreation-themed creations, but Berthiaume’s latest boards capture the most zeitgeist-y Netflix show of the moment: Stranger Things.
Berthiaume kicked things off with three Eleven-themed specials, including “Stranger Wings,” “Elevenchilada,” and “Telekinesauce.” He notes that all three go “great with Eggos,” which is a sentiment we appreciate even if we don’t fully agree with it on a culinary level.
The next day’s special board has a drawing of Dustin, although the food puns relate to all four Dungeons & Dragons loving friends at the show’s center.
And the most recent board is a tribute to everyone’s favorite underused Stranger Things character: Barb. Specials like “Barbecue,” “Barbohydrates,” and “Barbroiled” pay fitting tribute to the unexpected cultural icon.
