Stranger Things season 2 teaser rides the lightning
A proper trailer for the new season of Stranger Things is still a ways off, but Netflix knows there’s enough interest in its ’80s-riffs-laden sci-fi horror series that even the tiniest of clues will go over like gangbusters. To that end, here’s a teaser for season two, which sees the Dungeons & Dragons-loving boys riding back to their hometown. There are ominous skies, lightning, and a straggler, who’s probably Will Byers (Noah Schnapp). Could this brief preview actually be suggesting that he’ll have a hard time fitting in with the rest of the gang now that he’s back from the Upside Down? After all, executive producer Shawn Levy has played up Will’s role in the new episodes, which will also feature the return of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). The poster and teaser also echo production details released earlier this year about the rift to the Upside Down remaining open, so Hawkins will continue to be a kind of Midwestern Hellmouth.
The Barb-less new season of Stranger Things premieres October 27 on Netflix.
