Stranger Things' season 3 titles tease a possible new character—and a battle at the mall
Keeping with tradition, Netflix has once again revealed episode titles for the much-anticipated third season of Stranger Things in a teaser video.. The new, minute-long teaser video features eight episode titles, listed in this order: “Suzie, Do You Copy?”, “The Mall Rats”, “The Case Of The Missing Lifeguard”, “The Sauna Test”, “The Source”, “The Birthday”, “The Bite”, and “The Battle Of Starcourt.”
Season three of Stranger Things will take place in the summer of 1985, when the teen hangout spot du jour was still very much the mall. And if “The Mall Rats” and “The Battle of Starcourt” are any indication, our beloved characters will be spending a significant chunk of time there. Referencing “mall rats” is interesting, as Kevin Smith’s Mall Rats centered around two friends who hang out at the mall after getting dumped by their girlfriends; this is entirely speculative, but could we be headed for a breakup between a couple (or couples) on the show?
“Suzie, Do You Copy?” is a perplexing title as well, as we haven’t met a character in the Stranger Things world with that name (except for Max’s mother and Billy’s stepmother, but her name is Susan Hargrove). Only time will tell if any of these theories pan out—or if these titles are even final. Out of the nine episodes revealed back in 2016, only two titles made the cut.
Season three of Stranger Things will air in 2019.
