Stream Röyksopp's new album, Senior, before its release next Monday
Beautifully odd Norwegian duo Röyksopp is giving fans a chance to stream its new album, Senior, the follow-up to 2009's Junior, prior to its official release Sept. 13.
Known for its experimental attitude toward electronica and collaborations with artists such as Robyn, Lykke Li, and Karin Dreijer Andersson of The Knife and Fever Ray, Röyksopp describes Senior as “the introverted, dwelling and sometimes graceful counterpart to last year’s Junior: brim-full with dark secrets and distorted memories.”
Why yes, that does sound awfully melodramatic, but it's in step with the group's first album, Melody A.M. The new one's sweeping, layered melodies create a musical landscape that will likely make listeners' respective office environments take on a deeper, stranger meaning today.
