Stream the new album from STS and RJD2, composer of the Mad Men theme
Fans of Mad Men are no doubt familiar with RJD2’s killer theme song, an aural wave that perfectly sets the stage for whatever Sterling, Cooper, Draper, Pryce antics are forthcoming in each episode. His latest project, STS x RJD2, ventures away from that a little bit, finding the acclaimed producer teamed with fellow Philadelphian Sugar Tongue Slim, an artist who’s appeared on both Ciara’s “Oh” and The Roots’ How I Got Over LP. STS provides lyrics and soul to the record, which is due out May 5 via RJD2’s label, RJ’s Electrical Connections. Simultaneously raucous and melodic, the record takes rap and tips it on its head a bit, blending everything from Ludacris to The Impressions. A.V. Club readers can check out that hype for themselves below, where the album is exclusively streaming in its entirety.
STS x RJD2 is available for pre-order now via iTunes.
