Streets Of Laredo premiere the song that’ll soundtrack everything this fall
Streets Of Laredo will launch their new record, Volume I & II, Oct. 7 on indie label Dine Alone. That’s only a couple of months away, but fans rabid for new music from the Larry McMurtry-aping Brooklyn act can check out “Slow Train,” the record’s first single, below. Upbeat and full, the track seems like it could be one of those cuts that we’ll hear soundtracking everything from iPhone commercials to happy Grey’s Anatomy moments this fall. “Slow Train” has a sentimental story to boot, with singer Daniel Gibson attributing its inspiration to his grandfather, who he says had always dreamt of being a published writer but never realized his dream. Gibson said his the discovery of his grandfather’s unpublished memoirs moved him and his bandmates to write the track, which they hope will, “in a round about way,” help finally get him published.
