Strip down and listen to Nudity’s Astronomicon
Olympia’s Nudity isn’t an easy band to classify. Featuring members of a handful of Washington state hardcore bands, Nudity’s influences recall proto-punk, early metal, and the eccentricities of Devo. On April 7 Iron Lung Records will release Astronomicon, a record that swirls these sounds together until they all end up sounding distinctly like Nudity. The A.V. Club is streaming all of Astronomicon in advance of its release next week, and pre-orders for the album are still available through Iron Lung’s store. While it’s not as heavy as other parts of the Iron Lung’s catalog, Nudity’s chugging, palm-muted riffs and four-on-the-floor stomps are equally as brazen as the label’s assorted noisemakers.
