We’ve already covered most of the lineup for the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, but—much like the rest of us—it seems to be unable to avoid the siren song of a certain young man named James Franco. As reported by Variety, the Sundance Institute has just added the James Franco and Jonah Hill-starring True Story to the festival, which already features Franco’s I Am Michael—a biopic about a gay activist who becomes a Christian pastor. True Story—which is based on a factual account—was directed by Rupert Goold, and it stars Hill as a former New York Times journalist who meets with a murderer (Franco) who used his identity to hide from the FBI. Variety says the meeting “morphs into a game of cat and mouse,” so, in other words, it sounds like it’ll be another classic Franco/Hill laugh-filled hangout movie.
As far as non-Franco movies go, Sundance is also adding director Ken Kwapis’ A Walk In The Woods. It stars Robert Redford as a travel writer who reunites with an old friend—played by Nick Nolte—to hike along the Appalachian Trail. Emma Thompson, Mary Steenburgen, Nick Offerman, and Kristen Schaal will also show up in some capacity, so maybe this one is also a laugh-filled hangout movie.
