Superman will finally visit his cousin in Supergirl season two

It’s not especially unusual for cousins to go entire TV seasons without seeing each other, but it does get a bit frustrating when said cousins are Kal-El and Kara Zor-El/Danvers—better known as Superman and Supergirl. On the latter’s TV show, Superman was referenced a number of times during the first season, but he never made a proper appearance on Supergirl. When the show moves to the CW for its second season, though, that’s going to change, as Deadline is reporting that the Man Of Steel himself will be finally paying his cousin a visit in the season’s first two episodes.

We don’t know who will be playing Superman (or unrelated Daily Planet reporter Clark Kent), but Supergirl co-creator Andrew Kreisberg says he “cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape,” which seems to imply that it it’ll be someone new and not Henry Cavill, Tom Welling, or Dean Cain. However, if the CW really wants to blow some minds and push the whole “multiple Earths” thing that The Flash established last season, it should get Legends Of Tomorrow’s Brandon Routh to put the tights back on and say that his Superman Returns is now part of the same universe as Supergirl. He’d probably just be happy that people still remember that movie.
