In her 11-year run on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Susie Essman (further) established herself as a force to be reckoned with, both as a comedic talent and as the kind of no-nonsense lady whose bad side is best avoided. Now she’s reprising that formidable persona on TruTV’s Those Who Can’t, as a home ec teacher with a taste for chunky silver jewelry, a money-making scheme involving student sweatshop labor, and a contentious relationship with her former student, Smoot High School Spanish teacher Loren Payton (Adam Cayton-Holland). Essman makes her debut on the show tomorrow night, and to celebrate, The A.V. Club is premiering an exclusive clip from next week’s episode below.
