Suzanne Cryer signs on to HBO’s Silicon Valley

According to Deadline, HBO’s Silicon Valley has cast another series regular who isn’t a nerdy guy who writes code and is obsessed with the mathematics behind dick jokes. The lucky lady is Two Guys And A Girl’s Suzanne Cryer, and she’ll reportedly be playing someone named Laurie Bream—“a managing partner at Raviga Capital.” That means she’ll probably be taking over a bit for Christopher Evan Welch’s Peter Gregory, who had to be written out of the show after the actor’s death in 2013. Cryer also has plenty of credits more recent than Two Guys And A Girl—which aired about 1,000 years ago—including guest spots on Shameless, The Fosters, and Dexter. Plus, Deadline says her birthday was this week. Isn’t that fun? Anyway, in non-birthday news, Deadline also points out that Hung‘s Rebecca Creskoff had previously been cast in the Laurie Bream role back in October, but she has, evidently, been replaced. Maybe she couldn’t keep up with the dick joke mathematics?
