It just dawned on me that it was unfair to give the Grossest Club At SXSW This Year award to Eternal on Thursday without at least giving honorable mention to Lava Lounge Patio on Wednesday for its puddle of sewage in front of the stage. Some might even say that the Lava Lounge is the one that deserves the award, though there's evidence that the club fixed the problem after I left: the next day I asked a member of Maritime how it smelled up there when they closed out the night, and he had no idea what I was talking about. So either LLP did a great clean-up job, or that dude in Maritime deserves the Grossest Band Member At SXSW This Year award.
