Syfy has granted a second-season pickup to Alphas, its brave foray into superhero dramas despite everyone still having very specific memories of Heroes. Having cleared that admittedly low bar, Alphas has been both a ratings and critical success for the network, which has not surprisingly ordered another 13 episodes to air sometime in 2012. Hopefully this means it will continue to act as a refugee camp for character actors from other former sci-fi shows, with Summer Glau no doubt already passing it along to her other former cast-mates from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and The Cape as a safe place.
