Syfy renews two ghost shows, keeps proving ghosts exist
Despite the fact that Syfy has spent the past 10 years irrefutably proving the existence of ghosts, the world just isn’t ready to accept the truth yet. So Syfy execs heaved a heavy sigh, straightened their “I Want To Believe” posters, and went ahead and renewed two of the channel’s ghost-themed programs, Ghost Hunters and Paranormal Witness. According to Deadline, both shows have received 13-episode orders.
This will be the 10th season for Ghost Hunters, which follows paranormal investigator Jason Hawes as he visits various haunted locales to document ghostly encounters. The show is one of the longest-running and best-rated programs on Syfy. Meanwhile, Paranormal Witness returns for its fourth season after taking a brief hiatus. The show has been rebranded as Paranormal Witness: True Terror. And according to network executive Heather Olander, it “features shocking firsthand accounts of truly frightening and skin-crawling supernatural experiences—including the real-life story of the hit movie, The Conjuring.”
Both shows will return in 2015, by which point the world will hopefully be ready to hear what they have to say.
