Sylvester Stallone and Adam Driver team up for Afghanistan veteran biopic

According to Deadline, Adam Driver, a one-time Marine, is set to play Travis Mills, an Army Staff Sergeant who survived an IED blast that caused a quadruple amputation in Afghanistan. Driver will play the role in a film based on Mills’ memoir, Tough As They Come. Deadline reports that Sylvester Stallone is going to direct and co-star as Mills’ father-in-law.

Both actors are continuously committed to helping those who are serving and have done so. Driver founded the organization Arts In The Armed Forces, which puts on theatrical performances for members of the military. Meanwhile, Stallone recently made it clear he would rather work with veterans than take a post in Donald Trump’s administration with the National Endowment For The Arts. He said in a statement per Variety: “I believe I could be more effective by bringing national attention to returning military personnel in an effort to find gainful employment, suitable housing and financial assistance these heroes respectfully deserve.”
