T. Bone Burnett isn't doing the music for Nashville anymore

In what is a serious setback for fans of semi-fictional country music, T. Bone Burnett has revealed that he will not be returning to oversee the next season of Nashville. Representatives for Burnett—who’s married to series creator Callie Khouri, and therefore you’d think he’d understand that she needs him, not that you can trust anybody in this heartbreakin’ world—tell The Hollywood Reporter he’s simply too busy, given that no one can make a country music project these days without at least giving him a call. His role will now either be taken over by his co-composer Buddy Miller, or next year will see Rayna James just repetitively strumming a G chord for her new single, “Something Something Trucks And Misunderstandings And So On.”
