T.R. Knight joins Hulu’s 11/22/63 with James Franco

T.R. Knight, the guy who got killed off on Grey’s Anatomy long before Patrick Dempsey’s Derek Shepherd was felled by the tragic illness known as “Pissing Off Shonda Rhimes” that has killed a few other TV characters in the past, has just signed on to Hulu’s Stephen King adaptation 11/22/63. The miniseries—sorry, event series—will star James Franco as a man who accidentally travels back in time to 1958, giving him a few years to prevent John F. Kennedy’s assassination—because that’s the sort of thing people do when they accidentally go back in time. While in the past, Franco falls in love with a married woman named Sadie (played by Sarah Gadon), and Knight will play the woman’s estranged husband who can’t bring himself to officially break up with her. It’s that classic nightmare that all married men have, where someone who looks like James Franco comes from the future and tries to steal their wife, only this is T.R. Knight’s real life. Well, not his real life, because it’s just a character he’s going to play, but whatever.
