Take a ride with the first trailer for T2: Trainspotting

Danny Boyle chose life, chose a sequel, chose another Irvine Welsh adaptation, chose to work with the original cast of Trainspotting. And all those decisions have culminated in a film that’s a loud echo of the first, which can be heard in this first trailer. The preview opens with Renton (Ewan McGregor) and Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller) meeting up 20 years after that heist and betrayal. Then it speeds into the line-snorting action, with another speech from Renton about the pitfalls of modern living, which now include Instagram and revenge porn. Francis “Franco” Begbie (Robert Carlyle) is back as well, and sporting the kind of push-broom mustache that would make a graying Tom Selleck proud. Oh, and Spud (Ewen Bremner) is still alive, which is good news, since it looks like they’re putting together another deal that’s certain to go bad.

T2’s pulling into Stateside stations and theaters in limited release on March 3 and wide release on March 10.
