After the Oscars back in February, Flavorwire responded to The Artist winning Best Picture by compiling a virtual tour of the film’s shooting locations all over Los Angeles. Now they’ve got another Google Maps tour, this time a more sprawling worldwide affair featuring the residences of famous authors. The tour stretches from Ernest Hemingway’s Paris apartment and John Steinbeck’s fish hatchery in Tahoe City, California to the Chelsea Hotel apartment shared by Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe. It’s by no means a complete world tour of famous authors and their homes, but it’s still an intriguing primer on literary landmarks.
