Tales From The Hoff to revive David Hasselhoff's career...again
Bored with the ironic-or-is-it revival of Baywatch/Knight Rider star David Hasselhoff? We don't blame you. What with his willingess to poke fun at himself in winking music videos, movie cameos, those stupid "Don't Hassle The Hoff" shirts (which he himself has been known to sport), and his achingly self-aware hosting duties on America's Got Talent, this "postmodern" adoration of Hasselhoff is already wearing pretty thin—not to mention the whole "lame celebrities poking fun at how lame they are" sub-genre. Well prepare for kitsch overload: The E! Network has approved a Ryan Seacrest-produced scripted comedy called Tales From The Hoff, which will follow a loosely fictional version of Hasselhoff as he "navigates Hollywood and the world of dating after divorce." According to the network, the show will have a "Curb Your Enthusiasm feel." Except, you know, it won't be funny.
