Taraji P. Henson (and a bunch of princesses) join Wreck-It Ralph 2
Disney showed off some footage from the upcoming Wreck-It Ralph sequel, Ralph Breaks The Internet, at its D23 expo today, revealing that Empire star Taraji P. Henson has joined the movie’s cast. Henson will play Yesss, a denizen of the internet, who helps Ralph (John C. Reilly) and Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) make their way through its hordes of spammers and rampaging “sexy housewives” ads.
Henson wasn’t the only cast member the footage highlighted; according to Variety, the clip also contained appearances from a number of Disney princesses—including Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida, Anna, and Moana—each voiced by their original voice actress. (Who all proceded to take the D23 stage.)
Bringing in $470 million and an Oscar nomination, the original Wreck-It Ralph was a solid hit for Disney back in 2012. The sequel is set to arrive next year, on March 9.
