Taylor Schilling to star alongside Sam Worthington in sci-fi film The Titan
In its continued attempts to make Sam Worthington happen, Hollywood is chugging along on The Titan, a sci-fi feature set in the near future that follows the journey of a military family participating in an experiment of man’s genetic evolution; as part of the experiment, they’re relocated to outer space. Deadline reports that Orange Is The New Black’s Taylor Schilling has been tapped to play opposite this Worthington fellow. Max Hurwitz, who has previously written on Hell On Wheels, wrote the screenplay, and Lennart Ruff is set to make his feature directorial debut with the sci-fi project. Sofia Boutella, who starred in Kingsman earlier this year and was recently tapped for the Tom Cruise-starring The Mummy reboot, also stars.
Schilling recently wrapped filming season four of Orange Is The New Black, which is set to hit Netflix some time in 2016. She also recently wrapped on Phil, a feature project directed by and starring Greg Kinnear as a dentist posing as a plumber, which naturally leads to zany shenanigans, we suppose. This summer, Schilling starred opposite Adam Scott in the indie sex comedy The Overnight.
The Titan is in pre-production and begins filming next month in Europe.
