Taylor Swift Is Writing Taylor Swift Parodies Now

We all know that Taylor Swift is a magical starlight unicorn in a rapunzel costume trapped in a sticker on the cover of a Lisa Frank binder. That's just who she is. And, of course, we all know that Taylor Swift's music is the aural equivalent of oatmeal (with a dash of glitter). And, naturally, we are all  painfully aware of the fact that if you're in the supermarket, and a song comes over the loudspeakers with the word "princess" in it, there is a 90% chance that it's a Taylor Swift song because all of Taylor Swift's lyrics are streamed directly from the tiny, fluttering, butterfly-shaped id of Amy Adams' character in Enchanted.  But, even so, this has to be a joke, right?

Ha ha. "Today Was A Fairytale" It's the perfect name for a parody Taylor Swift song, cause she's always singing about generic fairy tale elements. Really captures her particular brand of magical blandness. Good work.

Oh, wait:

Taylor Swift gets a lot of credit for writing her own songs, which is great. For her.  But, “Today was a fairytale/ You were the prince/ I used to be the damsel in distress/ You took me by the hand and you picked me up at six/"? I'm pretty sure she's just sitting near a sandbox at a playground somewhere, jotting down whatever the kids playing make-believe are saying. Then again, maybe that's just her process.
