TBS cancels Tyler Perry, adds Tyler Perry

In news that will provide some gratification to Spike Lee then cruelly yank it away, TBS has announced that it is ending Tyler Perry’s first sitcom, Tyler Perry’s House Of Payne, after 172 episodes, only to replace with it Tyler Perry’s new sitcom, Tyler Perry’s For Better Or Worse. Much like TBS’ other Tyler Perry sitcom, Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns, Tyler Perry’s For Better Or Worse is based on a Tyler Perry movie, Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married? series, and will find those films’ Michael Jai White and Tasha Smith reprising their lead roles and spending week in and week out asking, indeed, Tyler Perry’s why they got married.

In a statement, Tyler Perry said that while he was “sad to say goodbye” to Tyler Perry’s House Of Payne, he was “looking forward to exploring new territory” on Tyler Perry’s For Better Or Worse, such as the fact that it will be less family-oriented, and that the show will most likely not feature Tyler Perry’s Madea character (unless Tyler Perry thinks it needs it).
